Holistic Horse Health

I’m a certified Holistic Animal Health Practitioner (2018), and I’m passionate about supporting horses through herbs, medicinal mushrooms, natural therapies, and frequency-based approaches. All of my formulas are tested on my own stud of PRE and CDE horses of all ages, and I continuously refine and perfect them over time to achieve the best possible results.

This holistic approach is particularly suitable for Iberian horses such as PRE, Lusitano, and CDE, but it also works beautifully for sport horses, leisure horses, and sensitive horses of all breeds. Our focus is always on prevention, balance, and regulation supporting the whole system rather than short-term symptom suppression.

The Four-Level Nutrition System for Horses

A holistic and structured approach to equine health and nutrition Our Four-Level Nutrition System for Horses is a holistic and flexible feeding concept based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It addresses different health conditions, life stages and workloads by providing progressive, targeted support, rather than a one-size-fits-all solution. Each level has a clear purpose and can be used individually or in combination, depending on the horse’s needs.

Basic Nutrition, Minerals and Daily Balance

The permanent foundation for every horse

Level 1 forms the nutritional foundation of the entire system. It ensures that the horse receives all essential nutrients required for long-term health and resilience.
This level focuses on:

high-quality forage as the basis of nutrition
natural minerals, vitamins and trace elements
support for digestion and metabolism
avoidance of industrial or highly processed feeds

Level 1 supports bones, joints, metabolism and the immune system. It is never discontinued and serves as the permanent daily base for every horse, regardless of age, discipline or health status.

Stomach and Metabolic Suppor

Applied temporarily or in cycles

Level 2 is used when the digestive system or metabolism requires additional support.
It is particularly suitable for:

horses with sensitive stomachs
stress-related digestive issues
feed changes or training pressure
imported horses or young horses in development

The goal of this level is to stabilise the digestive centre (TCM: spleen and stomach), improve nutrient absorption and prepare the body for regeneration or performance-related support.

Regeneration, Performance and Prevention

Individually adapted to each horse

Level 3 focuses on rebuilding, strengthening and long-term prevention. It is tailored to the horse’s workload, training level and physical condition.

This level supports:

regeneration after physical strain
muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints
performance and resilience
seasonal transitions and long-term prevention

From a TCM perspective, Level 3 nourishes Qi, Blood, Yin or Yang, depending on the individual constitution of the horse. It is applied strategically, not routinely.

Detoxification, Immune and Nervous System Support

Applied as a targeted phase

Level 4 is used when the body needs regulation, detoxification or nervous system support.

This level is especially beneficial:

during metabolic or toxic load
after medication or deworming
during stress, nervousness or inner imbalance
for imported or heavily burdened horses

It supports the body’s natural detoxification pathways, balances the immune system and calms the nervous system. 

This level integrates TCM-based formulations and mycotherapy in a focused and controlled way.  .
